Luis Estrada Swimming Scholarship

In 2013, the Estrada family lost a wonderful son and the community lost a young man with a generous heart and a bright future in a drowning accident. In Luis’ honor, his friends and family created an ongoing memorial scholarship fund through the Montrose Recreation District that would provide swimming lessons for children who cannot afford them. They would like to help prevent this tragedy from happening again.

Montrose Tennis Association

The Montrose Tennis Association was established in June 2002 to advocate for tennis court improvements and provide tennis activities for the community. As part of our efforts to develop tennis participation, MTA annually offers free tennis during Youth Appreciation Day and tournaments for juniors following the MRD tennis lessons. Through many tennis tournament fundraisers, the MTA has obtained many improvements for the tennis courts at the Montrose Aquatic Center.

Black Canyon Triathlon

The Black Canyon Triathlon is an annual fundraiser that encourages community members to get outside and be active. Proceeds from this event benefit the community of Montrose. Over $5,000.00 was returned to the local groups that assisted in the Triathlon in 2016. With continued support from the community we can continue to make this event successful.
