Carl Bivens Memorial Scholarship

Mr. Carl Bivins graduated from Claremore High School in Claremore, Oklahoma and from North Eastern State College (NESU), in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Mr. Bivins taught as a band director in Oklahoma for 25 years. The education that he received at NESU gave him a wonderful life. The scholarship award is meant to be used wisely by the recipient, but does not have to be used for books, tuition, housing, etc. Instead, Mr. Bivins wishes that the students attending NESU, who receive the scholarship, use the money as “pocket money” or money that can help support a social experience as well as book learning. The scholarship is set up to help provide a student (or students) with a full, educational experience. Mr Bivens was a Montrose resident, until his passing in 2020.
